Summer Goals

This is the first time in a long time I’m not actively writing something, and while an odd feeling hovers around me most days, a sense of peace and tranquility exists as well. So I’m looking forward to this summer, which begins TODAY! (I have one student I’ll be working with through June 27, possibly, but the day-to-day grind of the regular school year should not be present.)

So I thought I’d list my goals for the summer. Partly as a reminder to myself, partly as a means to get me back into the act of writing. If I don’t sit my bum into a chair and put my hands on the keyboard consistently, it will be too easy to find other things to do.

With no further ado, here are the summer goals:

  1. Create graphics for The Marriage Debt and promote them on Instagram and Facebook.
  2. Blog as much as possible, provided I have something to say (which isn’t a problem these days).
  3. Clean up our basement and toss, donate, or recycle as much as possible.
  4. Find a good volunteer opportunity in the community and sign up for shifts.
  5. Maintain the backyard (it’s a jungle out there!).
  6. Help a friend sell her house.
  7. Spread kindness in whatever way I can.
  8. Resist.
  9. Resist.
  10. Resist.

Yes, I have three of the same goals. Let me tell you—I could have listed Resist for all ten, but I thought that was a bit too much.

It’s going to be a busy summer, but honestly, I’m looking forward to it!
