(2017 NaNoWriMo) Captain’s Log, Day 18

Now that I’ve hit my 50,000 words, there’s no reason to really update you on my word count. Which is a good thing because yesterday, I chose not to write. (In my mind, 93 new words do not constitute “writing.”)

The dog woke me up at six a.m. I grabbed my book and a cup of coffee, read for over an hour and then went for an hour’s run. Melina asked me to read a few more chapters of our current read-aloud book before we made lunch, raked some leaves, treated ourselves to milkshakes and french fries, and then watched the live-action film Beauty and the Beast. With dinner, I watched two episodes of Stranger Things 2 with the kids before reading more to Melina. It was the best and most relaxing day I’ve had in a very long time. And I’m looking forward to more of those.

What will happen tomorrow? Only time will tell.
